Being phased out; updates end mid-2034

Google promised 10 years of updates for every Chromebook. On September 29, it published a support document that cut that promise to eight: ChromeOS updates end for all devices in mid-2034, no matter when the device was bought. A Chromebook purchased today stops receiving security patches eight years from now, not ten.
