Administering elections; defending SIR process; facing Supreme Court challenge

India's Election Commission ordered a review of ECINET, the software that manages the country's voter rolls, after a newspaper reported that two of its own commissioners had repeatedly challenged changes that excluded millions of voters. A committee led by a senior deputy election commissioner, with an independent IIT or IIIT technology expert, will examine whether the system complies with election law.
