Safety Insurance sells car and home coverage to drivers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. On July 24, 2026, its board agreed to sell the whole company to Spain's Mapfre for about $1.54 billion in cash. Shareholders get $105 a share, a 44% jump over the prior day's close.
