Nepal finished building an 18-kilometer, 400-kilovolt transmission line connecting its New Butwal substation to the India border, the first segment of a US-funded corridor designed to carry surplus Nepali hydropower across the frontier. The line was expedited at the request of Nepal's energy ministry and completed on time.
