A downtown Grand Rapids storefront that has seen two restaurants close in two years is getting a third tenant. The City Commission approved a development-district liquor license for Miro Mediterranean. The Mediterranean bar and restaurant is planned for the ground floor of the Residence Inn by Marriott at 10 Ionia Ave. NW.

Grand Rapids' new soccer stadium moved a step closer to serving alcohol. On Oct. 6 the city's Committee of the Whole approved a liquor license for Amway Stadium, letting the 8,500-seat venue sell beer, wine, and spirits.

Issued the suspension and is enforcing fine payment

Mill Creek Tavern can't sell alcohol for 30 days after the Michigan Liquor Control Commission suspended its license Sept. 2. The tavern bounced payments to a liquor wholesaler and the state, then didn't pay the fine ordered at a June hearing.
