Newfoundland's Northern cod deemed healthy for first time since 1992 collapse

Canada's Fisheries and Oceans department has declared the Northern cod stock off Newfoundland and Labrador "healthy" for the first time since 1992. The upgrade let Ottawa raise the commercial quota by 55 percent, to 59,000 tonnes a year.
