In December 2023, Brad Jacobs put $1 billion into a tiny software company, renamed it QXO, and declared he would build a building products distribution giant worth $50 billion in revenue. On April 19, 2026, QXO announced it will acquire TopBuild, North America's largest insulation distributor and installer, for approximately $17 billion, paying shareholders $505 per share in a mix of cash and stock.
