Processes court-ordered payments under 5 CFR Part 1653
Once a court orders money out of a Thrift Savings Plan account, that payment is final. The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board published a final rule October 22 reinstating 5 CFR 1653.5(l), which states plainly that a properly paid court order payment cannot be returned to the TSP.
