A Tyrannosaurus rex ran a body temperature of about 97 degrees Fahrenheit in life, nearly identical to a modern human. Chemists extracted the figure from rare isotope bonds preserved in fossilized tooth enamel — the first direct temperature measurement of the dinosaur.
