Led the FDA review that granted accelerated approval

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved AstraZeneca's pill Etcamah (camizestrant) on September 4, 2026, for people with a hormone-driven form of metastatic breast cancer that carries an estrogen receptor-1 (ESR1) mutation. It is the first cancer therapy approved based on a resistance mutation detected in blood before scans show the disease has progressed.
