CVS Pharmacy agreed to pay $315 million to settle federal allegations that it illegally filled opioid and other controlled-substance prescriptions from October 2013 through December 2025. It then billed Medicare and other federal programs for many of those invalid prescriptions. CVS admitted no wrongdoing, and the allegations remain unproven.
