Ruling under appeal; trial proceedings stayed by the Fifteenth Court of Appeals

A Texas judge ruled on September 10 that TikTok misled users about how it filters content for children. Judge Cory Liu found the company violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act by marking some banned videos "hard to find" instead of removing them, and by promoting a Restricted Mode that did not block mature content as promised.
