Addressee of congressional demand to halt closures
The Fields Corner post office in Dorchester closes 'temporarily' on Oct. 26 when its lease expires. Post-office boxes move to the Fields Corner Annex at 18 Clayton St., open 24 hours, with a pick-up window weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to noon; retail customers are directed to Codman Square, and City Councillor John FitzGerald launched an online petition on Oct. 11 urging USPS to find a new home in Fields Corner.
