Researchers create BioPykrete, a 'super ice' that rivals concrete in strength

Researchers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem have built a reinforced ice they call BioPykrete. In compression tests it's about 10 times stronger than ordinary ice, bringing it close to conventional concrete, and it absorbs roughly 70 times more energy before it fails.
