Chicago broke ground Wednesday on Foundry Park, a $3 billion plan to turn the former A. Finkl & Sons steel site on the North Branch of the Chicago River into a mixed-income neighborhood. The project is the scaled-down successor to Lincoln Yards, the Sterling Bay megadevelopment that stalled after the pandemic.
