Dana-Farber Cancer Institute broke ground Monday on a 300-bed hospital built solely for cancer patients, the first such inpatient facility in the Boston region. The Lavine Bekenstein Cancer Hospital, set to open in 2031, sits on the former Joslin Diabetes Center site on Brookline Avenue.
