Cautious on funding change, did not oppose outright

At its Sept. 24 meeting, Alexandria's school board opened its FY 2028 budget season, the first under a new funding system that gives the city council control over how school dollars are split into nine spending categories. Board members were asked to approve the budget calendar, process resolution, and rules of engagement; no vote on those items was recorded in the filed documents.
