Iraq closed the Al-Sheeb border crossing with Iran on Wednesday. It's a major commercial gateway used for food, construction materials, and Iranian pilgrims heading to Shia holy sites. The crossing, known as Chazabeh in Iran, will stay closed until further notice while Baghdad reviews security and installs smuggling-detection equipment.
