Confirmed settlement to clergy; signing scheduled for November 6
The Archdiocese of New York agreed Saturday to pay $800 million to roughly 1,300 people who said clergy sexually abused them as children. It is the second-largest Catholic Church abuse settlement in US history, behind only the Archdiocese of Los Angeles's $880 million deal in 2024.
