Nicaragua announced Saturday it is leaving the Central American Parliament, the six-country regional body, with immediate effect. The foreign ministry said the decision came "in the full exercise of its sovereignty." On Tuesday the National Assembly voted unanimously to repeal the 1988 decree that had ratified the treaty.
