Brands built on online and partner-channel sales began opening their own physical storefronts to capture walk-in demand. Warby Parker opened its first store in 2013 after starting as a web-only eyewear company.
The DTC-to-retail move gave brands direct control over customer experience and margins.
Physical retail became a standard expansion step for many digitally native consumer brands.
Sprigs Life, which sells through retail partners, now holds a license for its own storefront — a move in the same direction as earlier DTC brands that added brick-and-mortar locations.
