Says competition exists statewide; chief executive Tricia Keith said in an Oct. 18 interview the insurer would face and learn from adversity

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel sued Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan on Oct. 8, accusing the state's largest insurer of running an illegal monopoly. The complaint, filed in federal court in Detroit and assigned to U.S. District Judge Matthew Leitman, says Blue Cross used agreements with other Blue Cross plans to divide territory and hold down what it pays doctors and hospitals.

The Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) Turkey Trot is adding a 10K and a 1-mile walk to its lineup this Thanksgiving. The 34th annual event will open with the new 10K at 8 a.m. on November 26, followed by the children's Mini Trot, the 5K, and the new family walk.
