Their import requirements trigger formal entry under the new rule
U.S. Customs and Border Protection moved the compliance deadline for new formal entry requirements on postal shipments to January 20, 2027. Importers, brokers, and logistics providers get 90 more days to update systems and build the data infrastructure the rule requires. It is the second time CBP has pushed back this deadline since it indefinitely suspended the de minimis exemption for mail shipments in June.
