Salt Lake City considers zoning change to allow more housing types across a third of the city

Proposal recommended to the City Council on Sept. 23; public comment on the second-home ordinance closed Sept. 14

Salt Lake City's Planning Commission voted unanimously Sept. 23 to recommend the 'Expanding Housing Options' zoning overhaul, sending it to the City Council. The plan would allow duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and small townhomes in single-family zones covering about 77% of the city's residentially zoned land.
