Supplying machinery and crews to protect the reserve

A wildfire has burned more than 11,000 hectares across Serbia, with the largest blaze tearing through the Deliblato Sands, a protected nature reserve about 65 kilometers from Belgrade. Firefighters and army helicopters fought for days to keep flames from reaching homes in the village of Šumarak, where the fire entered some yards but was stopped short of houses.
