Filed renewed emergency appeal to the Supreme Court on September 6; First Circuit denied the administration's request September 10

Judge Indira Talwani issued a preliminary injunction September 4 blocking the U.S. Postal Service's new mail-ballot rule for the November 3 midterms. The First Circuit upheld that block September 10, and the Justice Department is now pressing its emergency appeal at the Supreme Court.
