India, the world's most populous country and third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, now has a live digital platform for trading carbon credits. The Indian Carbon Market portal, launched March 21 at the Prakriti 2026 summit in New Delhi, allows industries to register emission-reduction projects and earn Carbon Credit Certificates. These credits can be traded on supervised power exchanges, putting a price on pollution across nine industrial sectors.
