Sacramento burger chain receives license at South Sacramento retail center

August 14th, 2026: ABC license goes active for Jacks Urban Eats Delta Shores

Overview

Updated Sep 13

Jacks Urban Eats, the Sacramento fast-casual burger chain, cleared a major regulatory step for its Delta Shores location on August 14, 2026. The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) activated a type 41 license for the restaurant at 8148 Delta Shores Circle South.

The license lets the restaurant serve beer, wine, and spirits on-site once it opens. It is one approval in a longer process: Jacks still needs to finish the space, pass inspections, and set an opening date.

Why it matters

South Sacramento residents could get a new sit-down restaurant with a full bar at Delta Shores, one of the area's largest retail centers.

Scenarios

1

Jacks Urban Eats opens at Delta Shores by end of 2026

Likely Resolves by End of 2026

Discussed by: Local outlets like the Sacramento Bee and KCRA 3 would cover the opening

With the ABC license active, the main remaining steps are construction, staffing, and inspections. Most restaurants open within a few months of receiving their license, so a late-2026 opening is plausible.

Possible Resolves by Q1 2027

Discussed by: Coverage from local business press such as the Sacramento Business Journal

Construction delays, permit issues, or staffing shortages could push the opening into 2027. This is a common outcome for new restaurants, even after licensing.

3

Jacks exits Delta Shores plan

Unlikely Resolves by Q2 2027

Discussed by: Speculation in local Sacramento food and real estate circles, not yet mainstream

If the chain decides the location is not viable, it could cancel the project after licensing. This is rare but has happened in the industry when lease terms or market conditions shift.
