Coal plants hit the 55% minimum thermal floor in over half of midday dispatch intervals by April 2026. One-third of the 54.8 gigawatts of recently commissioned capacity flows only through temporary grid routes, with curtailment running 50-60% during peak solar hours in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
