South Korea has had two full-service international carriers since 1988. On December 17, 2026, it will have one. Korean Air confirmed May 26 that on that date it will absorb Asiana Airlines' fleet, staff, routes, and operating certificate, retiring the Asiana brand after 38 years.

Conducting on-site inspection of Arm Korea

Arm Holdings designs the chip architecture found in roughly 99% of smartphones and a growing share of data-center processors. On May 6 it reported record quarterly results. Five days later, Bloomberg revealed the Federal Trade Commission had opened an antitrust probe into how the company distributes those designs.
