President Trump signed an executive order on October 19 creating a Women's Health Division inside the National Institutes of Health and a White House task force on women's health. The order gives NIH 90 days to set up the division and tells the Department of Health and Human Services to cover the new task force's administrative costs.

Crystal Lake Public Beach in Montcalm County is under a health advisory. Routine monitoring found an algal bloom that tested positive for microcystin, a toxin that can sicken people and kill pets. The Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) is telling visitors to avoid areas of the lake where the bloom is visible.
