Executing voter-approved facility borrowing plan

The Madison Metropolitan School District board on September 28 approved $208 million in notes for Phase 2 of the 2024 facilities referendum. The board also approved $65 million in short-term cash-flow borrowing and is seeking an AA+ rating from Standard & Poor's for the sale.

Applicant for the Russett Road conditional use; project owner

Two west-side Madison school campuses will merge into one building after the Plan Commission granted a conditional use permit on August 31. The 204,000-square-foot structure at 5606 Russett Road pairs a three-story Akira Toki Middle School with a two-story Orchard Ridge Elementary. Construction starts January 2027.
