The Bureau of Land Management accepted $4.83 million in winning bids for geothermal leases on 60 parcels of Nevada federal land on October 20. Eighteen bidders competed for 186,641 acres across ten counties, the most registered bidders in any Nevada geothermal sale.

Federal judges cleared all five East Coast offshore wind projects to resume construction by February 2, 2026, finding the Trump administration had not justified its national security suspensions. The five projects total about 5.8 gigawatts. Vineyard Wind and Revolution Wind are now fully built and sending power; Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind is more than 80% complete.

South Dakota's largest wind farm is taking shape in Haakon County. Blattner Energy is building the $750 million Philip Wind Energy Center for Invenergy's Philip Wind Partners, with commercial operation targeted for March 2028.

Retains 50% of IATP and operational role
ArcLight Capital Partners closed its purchase of a 50% stake in IATP, a 5.4-gigawatt portfolio of 11 natural gas power plants across North America. Invenergy, which built and operates the plants, keeps the other half and its operating role. The seller was InfraBridge, the infrastructure arm of DigitalBridge Group.

Partner holding capacity rights on existing corridor segments
A 285-mile transmission line connecting Idaho to Nevada broke ground September 3 in Ely, Nevada. It completes a corridor first conceived in the 1980s: California wants Idaho wind moving south, and Idaho wants Desert Southwest power moving north.
