Declined to operate a new Glendale pool

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall promised an outdoor pool at Glendale Regional Park in her January 2024 State of the City address. Nearly three years later, the pool is out of the plans.

As of September 2026: Operates park grounds, made the drain decision

Sugar House Park's pond sat drained for two months this summer. Parleys Creek dropped to record-low flows, so Salt Lake County opened the outlet gate and let the creek run through the basin naturally instead of letting stagnant water fester. In September, water returned.
