Opposing the plant; commissioned the health study

Cumberland County supervisors voted 3-1 on October 20 to approve a conditional use permit for Dominion Energy's 3,000-megawatt gas-fired plant near the James River, an hour west of Richmond. The Cumberland Energy Center would be among the largest gas plants in the United States, topped only by a 4,300-megawatt complex in Florida.

Two federal judges have ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency unlawfully canceled the $7 billion Solar for All program. Judge Tanya Chutkan of the U.S. District Court in Washington ruled Sept. 22 that the termination was 'arbitrary and capricious, contrary to law, and in excess of statutory authority.'
