The San Francisco Ferry Building went dark at 6:42 a.m. Wednesday, cutting power to 455 customers and knocking out traffic lights along the Embarcadero during the morning commute. Power was fully restored by 10 a.m., but PG&E says the cause remains under investigation.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! announced September 22 that it will close its San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf attraction before the end of 2026. The museum, which opened in 1967, is one of the longest-running tenants in the district.

Built and operates Alioto's Plaza

A 97-year-old restaurant that anchored Fisherman's Wharf is now a public plaza with picnic tables, Bay-facing benches, and a beer garden. Mayor Daniel Lurie cut the ribbon Wednesday, calling the space "a new reason to return" to San Francisco's most tourist-heavy neighborhood.
