UN rights council condemns attacks on civilians in Sudan, calls for truce

The UN Security Council on Thursday voted unanimously to extend the arms embargo on Sudan's Darfur region until December 11, but rejected a US proposal to widen it to the whole country. Russia and China opposed the broader ban. The same day, a drone strike by the Rapid Support Forces in Blue Nile state killed 26 women and four children, local officials said.
