The federal government has committed $80.5 million to build a 122,200-square-yard aircraft parking apron on the west side of Denver International Airport. Denver will bill the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for eligible costs as construction proceeds; the award is an obligation, not cash in hand.

Denver voters rejected Xcel Energy's franchise deal last November. On July 27, the City Council voted 10-2 to send a revised 20-year agreement to the November 3 ballot.
