Murder of the Notorious B.I.G. (1997)
Six months after Shakur's death, the Notorious B.I.G. was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The killing was widely seen as retaliation in the same gang and record-label feud. Davis was briefly a suspect before being discounted.
No one was ever charged; the case remains open.
The two murders became twin symbols of the East Coast-West Coast feud.
The Tupac conviction does not resolve the Biggie case. Law enforcement witnesses at Davis's trial said he was investigated for that killing and cleared.
