Carson City and Ormsby County consolidate (1969)
Voters approved merging Ormsby County and Carson City into one consolidated municipality, a structure Nevada still uses. The merger absorbed the county government into the city.
Carson City became a single jurisdiction with unified planning and services.
It remains one of Nevada's few consolidated city-counties, the alternative to Las Vegas and Clark County's separate governments.
Shows the consolidation path Nevada has available, versus the interlocal agreement approach Las Vegas and Clark County use to coordinate without merging.
