MRI Software adds AI voice agents to its real estate platform

MRI Software adds AI voice agents to its real estate platform

New Capabilities

Agora now answers leasing and maintenance calls, drafts rent reminders, and runs more than 20 property workflows

Overview

Updated 38 minutes ago

A prospective renter calls a leasing office at nine at night, asks about pricing, and books a tour. Nobody on the property team picks up. MRI Software said on Nov. 3 that its AI voice agents can now take that call, write the summary into the leasing system, and leave a follow-up task for staff in the morning.

The announcement at MRI's Ascend conference in Las Vegas ties three pieces together. Agora Intelligence flags what needs attention, such as overdue rent. Agora Orchestrator runs the follow-up work across more than 20 real estate workflows using nearly 250 AI agents. Agora Voice extends that to the phone. The pitch is a platform that moves from telling property teams what to do, to doing part of it inside limits the client sets.

Why it matters

Property managers run on phone calls and spreadsheets. If agents close that loop, staffing per building changes.

Scenarios

1

Ask Agora ships inside PMX on the Go by year-end

Likely Resolves by Q1 2027

Discussed by: MRI Software's own November 2026 announcement, which named the end-of-2026 target

MRI said its next step is putting Ask Agora product assistance across its portfolio, including the PMX on the Go mobile app, by the end of 2026. Shipping it would mean field staff can query their own property data on a phone rather than waiting for a dashboard. Missing the date would suggest the agent stack is harder to port across products than the monthly release cadence implies.

2

A named client puts Agora Voice on live leasing calls

Possible Resolves by Q2 2027

Discussed by: MRI's announcement, which described after-hours call handling without naming a voice customer

The voice capability was demonstrated at a conference, not attributed to a live property portfolio. The next test is a named operator routing real leasing or maintenance calls through it. That would show the voice agent clears the bar for tenant-facing use, where a bad call costs a lease rather than a spreadsheet error.

3

A rival ships its own property voice agent

Uncertain Resolves by Q2 2027

Discussed by: Trade coverage framing agentic workflows as the competitive front for real estate software

MRI's edge depends on how long voice handling stays distinctive. Property software is a small, concentrated market where features travel fast. If a major competitor announces an agent that answers leasing or maintenance calls, Agora Voice becomes a requirement rather than an advantage, and the contest shifts to governance and audit trails.

Historical Context

2 moments from history that rhyme with this story — and how they unfolded.

June 2026

Agora Insights to Agora Intelligence (2026)

MRI's first Agora product was a cross-product dashboarding tool called Agora Insights. In June 2026 the company replaced that framing with Agora Intelligence, which pushes role-specific briefings to people rather than waiting for them to open a dashboard.

Then

The shift moved MRI from reporting to recommending, and added confidence scores and data-completeness ratings to each finding.

Now

It set the pattern for the November release: each layer hands work to the next instead of standing alone.

Why this matters now

The voice launch is the third step in the same sequence, and the same question applies. Does the recommendation survive contact with messy real property data?

2024-2026

Enterprise software's agent layer (2024-2026)

Large business software vendors spent this period attaching AI agents to existing platforms rather than selling separate tools. The recurring selling points were pre-built agents tied to the vendor's own data, plus logs and approval steps for anything that touches money or customers.

Then

Buyers got automation without building their own data pipelines, and vendors got a reason to raise prices on existing seats.

Now

The audit trail became the product differentiator, because operators would not let agents act unsupervised on billing or tenant communications.

Why this matters now

MRI is following that template in a narrow vertical. Its claim to 20-plus workflows and a searchable log of every agent action mirrors what enterprise buyers now expect before signing.
