Abqaiq-Khurais attacks (September 2019)
Drones and cruise missiles struck the Abqaiq oil processing facility and Khurais field, briefly cutting 5.7 million barrels per day, about half of Saudi output. Iran denied involvement.
Brent spiked about 15% in a day, then fell back as Saudi restored output within weeks.
The attack showed Iran-aligned forces could paralyze Saudi oil infrastructure and reshaped Gulf security planning.
It is the clearest precedent for drones disrupting Saudi oil supply. Today's strike matters more because the targeted pipeline is now central: Hormuz is closed.
